MOTORGLIDERS AND MOTORGLIDING: PRESENT AND FUTURE
Keywords:
Design, Training, CoachingAbstract
The FAI Intenational Gliding Commission at its last meeting Match 1991, acknowledged the fast development of motorgliders, the increasing interest of glider pilots in competitions and records for motorgliders, but also the impending dangers coming from outside and inside the gliding movement. It was recognized that, in general, motorgliders have no advantage on competing with gliders in gliding championships. For the time being, however, the admission of motorgliders to World and Continental Championships should only be allowed upon the condition that, if the engine is used for self-launching, it cannot be restarted in flight.Downloads
