THE STATISTICAL ANALYSIS OF MOUNTAIN WAVES OVER SOUTHERN ANATOLIA
Keywords:
Meteorology, Climatology, Atmospheric physicsAbstract
In this paper, the mountain wave probability and wave characteristics have been studied over Darvas (2635m) Mountains at the Southwestern Anatolia. The climatological observations in Isparta between 1990 and 1994 have been considered. The radiosonde data (0000GMT) in Isparta has also been used as an input data for the Caswell Method to forecast the mountain wave characteristics. Cloud cover and height of altocumulus clouds have been analyzed by using the statistical methods. This study is useful to understand the probability of mountain waves in late autumn. The seasonal variation of mountain wave characteristics have illustrated the similar trend between 1990 and 1994.Downloads
