A LOW SPEED SAILPLANE FOR RESEARCH
Keywords:
Aerodynamics, Structures, DesignAbstract
A few years ago we entered into a research project at Vandenbilt University to study the flight characteristics of several species of gliding birds, namely the Black Vulture, Turkey Vulture, Red Tailed Hawk, etc. The sailplane which is the subject of this paper was designed to more nearly match the speed range of the bird. Fliqht tests to date indicate that this goal has been achieved.Downloads
